Discover the beauty and charm of New England on a tour to the coastal towns of Newport and Mystic. From the opulence of the Gilded Age still on full display in Newport to the historic seafaring village like Mystic there is a lot to see in this picturesque part of America.

Travel north from New York thru Connecticut to Rhode Island, the smallest US state. Cross spectacular Narragansett Bay to the historic town of Newport. Drive along Bellevue Ave lined with spectacular mansions built in the 1800’s. These “summer cottages” of the wealthiest families of the era. Visit the Vanderbilt mansion, the Breakers and tour this 70-room home and its lavish gardens. Enjoy the views on a short walk along the scenic Cliff Walk. Other highlights include St. Mary’s Church where John F Kennedy & Jacqueline were married and Touro Synagogue, the oldest existing synagogue in America.  Our lunch break on the Newport waterfront with free time to eat and enjoy scenic views of the boats and water.

There are plenty of photo ops along the scenic drive going south thru coastal villages typical of New England. Mystic settled in 1654, was the heart of the seafaring industry. The village’s picturesque scenery includes the only other counter lever draw bridge in the world besides the London Bridge. On Main Street stop for a photo and eat a slice of pizza at the famous Mystic Pizza. Enjoy the sights of the beautiful Thames River with all of its maritime history and see the historic sailboats from the Mystic Seaport. Our tour ends here as we depart for an early evening return to New York
