Two dates remain, August 11 and 18, to take advantage of the streets of New York without cars through certain streets of the city from 7 am until 1 pm.
The objective is to provide a space for healthy recreational activities and also encourage the use of other forms of transport such as bicycles.
In 2017 almost 300,000 participated in the open streets.
Summer Streets extends from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park, Park Avenue and the streets that connect it.
All the activities that are carried out in them are free and are designed for people of all ages and with different skill levels.
With almost 7 miles of extension, it has 5 stops:
Uptown Rest Stop (at 42nd Street) Where there are many activities for children and a stage where musicians will perform.
Midtown Rest Stop (at 23rd Street) Here you can find food and drinks with free samples!
Astor Place Rest Stop (at the height of Astor Place) At this stop you can visit and visit the “I Love NY” visitor’s center.
Soho Rest Stop (at the height of Spring Street) Here will be a fitness scenario where you can participate in some yoga class.
Foley Square Rest Stop (at the height of Duane Street) They will have a tea stand, street games in Chinatown, zip line and more!
Each stop has different activities which can be seen in this link: Summer Streets NYC
If you are in New York on these two weekends that are left, you should not miss out on participating in any Summer Streets activity.
