how many days to spend in new york city

How many days it takes to get to see New York City is a very difficult question to answer.

New York is a city that is constantly changing, every day they open new businesses, new restaurants and every month it surprises us with new attractions that make you want to come back always.

But unless we’re millionaires, there’s never enough time to see the whole city, so according to your budget, it will be the #1 reason you can enjoy New York.

Now we are going to see a series of examples of itineraries:

New York Itinerary 3 DAYS STAY

This is the minimum time to see the main attractions in NYC, obviously I do not recommend visiting it for such a short time, it can not be used for a first time.

What you can do at this time:

Visit the southern area of Manhattan: Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, World Trade Center, Brooklyn Bridge and other attractions in the area.

Visit the attractions of Midtown: Empire State Building, Grand Central Terminal, Public Library, Bryant Park, Fifth Avenue, Times Square, Rockefeller Center.

You can not miss the Central Park and maybe some museum if of your interest.

New York Itinerary 5 DAYS STAY

Although I do not recommend it either, I think it’s an interesting minimum if you combine it with another city, like a tour to Washington DC , but again you can feel like you didn’t see everything.

Adding to the previous plan,  we can access some neighborhoods like Brooklyn (Dumbo, Prospect Park, Williamsburg, Ft Greene) and the neighborhoods of Soho, Little Italy, Chinatown and Greenwich Village.

New York Itinerary 7 DAYS STAY

Recommended time to have a basic vision of everything that New York offers.

We’ll add to the previous plans,  Harlem being able to attend a Gospel Mass, also the Upper West Side neighborhood and the possibility of shopping.

New York Itinerary 10 DAYS STAY

The ideal time for a preliminary visit to New York, in addition to everything from the previous itineraries, we can include a night out on the town or a night out on a  lounge roof deck (summertime of course), other must see neighborhoods include Tribeca, Flatiron and the East Village and destination of course the bridges (Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, Williamsburg Bridge) for amazing skyline views of the city.

As always depends on your budget, travel time and how much you want to know about the city.

After having traveled for the first time, you’ll realize your time spent in New York City,  is never enough!
