What to do on Governors Island?

Governor Island is a small island that lies south of Manhattan. It can only be visited on certain dates of the year, in the middle of spring and until the middle of autumn. This 2018, you’ll be able to visit the island, like the previous year, a month before its usual summer opening !!

On May 1, you’ll be able to go to this island that is just 7 minutes from Downtown, Manhattan.


ACTIVITIES

On the island you can do all types of activities besides having spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline:

?? Rent free bicycles from 10 to 12 hours on weekdays for one hour.
?? Free kayak.
?? Visit the beach at Governors Club.
?? Several gastronomic options.

Smoking on the island
?? All bags may be subject to a random check.

HOW TO GET
Ferry at the Battery Maritime Building (10 South Street) is reached by subway 1 train to south ferry, 4 or 5  trains to bowling green or R train at Whitehall.

Ferry is  $2 for round trip, children under 12 travel free.

 

FERRY SCHEDULES
10 to 18:00 from Monday to Friday
10 to 19:00 on Saturdays and Sundays
